The Taj Mahal at sunset

Commissioned in 1632 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Emperor was later buried there himself.

Picture taken in 2002. Having seen the Taj Mahal in lots of pictures it was quite amazing to stand in front of the real thing!
